Seminar in Current Issues

A writing and discussion seminar during which students will select and investigate focused aspects of broad, fundamental issues in information and library science through literature searches, readings, lectures, and discussion of their written work. Students will develop focused positions related to specific current issues in information and library studies. They will articulate their position short written papers and defend that position in oral presentations in class. Classes will consist of discussion of the issues and critiques of the elements and techniques of writing and oral presentation, using the student work and presentations in class as the focus.
