Independent Study in Library and Information Science

Directed and supervised projects of independent study. Limited to students having a grade point average of 3.3 or above who have a sufficient background to work independently. Consent of the instructor is required before registration. No student may take more than two independent studies. LIS 801 may be taken for either 1.5 or 3 credit hours.

This course may be applied toward earning the Certificate in Data and Knowledge Management, the Certificate in Digital Curation, the Certificate in Digital Libraries, the Certificate in Informatics, the Certificate in Web Design, or the Certificate in Youth Services.

Pre-Requisites: 

Completion of eight courses, including LIS 701, LIS 703, LIS 704 and LIS 770 or LIS 773
